Hey there,  Peter Hogaboom here.
If you're thinking about moving to Wesley Chapel, or just landed here and want to get out and explore, I've got you covered.

One of the things I love about this area besides the homes, schools, and neighborhoods, is how much there is to do. Whether you're raising a family, enjoying retirement, or just looking for something fun this weekend, Wesley Chapel as something for you.

Here are 10 local spots I recommend all the time and visit myself with my wife Gabi and our crew.

1. The Shops at Wiregrass

This is our outdoor mall, and it's more than just shopping. I'm not much of a shopper, but my wife Gabi is, and she absolutely loves it here. I come for the great restaurants and the relaxing vibe. it's a perfect spot to stroll around, people-watch, or grab dessert. They've got live music nights, art walks, yoga on the lawn, and fun events year-round. Gabi is especially excited that they just opened an Anthropologie.. Located just about 3 miles from the center of Wesley Chapel, it's an easy 6–8 minute drive.

2. Epperson Lagoon

A crystal-clear manmade lagoon where you can paddleboard, lounge, hit the slide, or just hang with the kids. It's like a tropical resort 15 minutes from home. Located approximately 6 miles southwest of central Wesley Chapel, expect a quick 12–15 minute drive.

3. Tampa Premium Outlets

If you like a good deal, this is your spot. Great brands, big discounts, and an easy place to knock out back-to-school or holiday shopping. This outlet mall is about 10 miles southwest, roughly a 15–20 minute drive depending on traffic.

4. Hillsborough River State Park

One of my favorite places to slow down. Kayaking, trails, wildlife. Bring a picnic or go for a hike. It's peaceful and just a short drive away. It's about 22 miles from Wesley Chapel, which takes 30–35 minutes by car.

5. Florida Avenue Brewing Co.

Want to feel like a local? Grab a craft beer and relax outside. It's family-friendly, and they host events, food trucks, and live music all the time. You'll find it about 6 miles southwest of Wesley Chapel and it's only a 15-minute drive.

6. Wiregrass Ranch Sports Campus

This place is big! A ournament, basketball, volleyball, training facility. If your kids are into sports or you just love the energy of a game day, check it out. Located just 2–3 miles from central Wesley Chapel, it's a super easy 5–7 minute drive.

7. Giraffe Ranch (Just Outside Town)

This one's great for kids or out-of-town guests. You can feed giraffes, take a safari tour, and get up close with animals, with no long drive to a zoo needed. It's located about 16–18 miles north, so plan for a 25–30 minute drive.

8. New River Branch Library

This library is one of Wesley Chapel's hidden gems. They've got a seed library (yes seeds!), a community garden, and great events for kids and families. It's just 5 miles southwest and takes about 10–12 minutes to get to.

9. TreeHoppers Aerial Adventure Park

Zip lines and rope courses through the trees is a total hit with teens, but also fun for adventurous adults. This fun park is roughly 6 miles south of Wesley Chapel and takes about 10–12 minutes to reach.

10. Seasonal Events & Festivals

From fireworks at The Grove to food truck nights and farmers markets at Wiregrass, there's always something happening. Most events are held within 5–7 miles of the town center, with an average drive of 10–15 minutes.

Bonus Tip: You're Close to Everything

That's the beauty of Wesley Chapel. You've got Tampa's airport, beaches, sports, and nightlife less than 30 minutes away, but you still get the space, calm, and community feel of a smaller town.

Wesley Chapel isn't just a place to live... it's a place to live well.
If you're thinking about buying here, or just want a local's perspective on where to go next weekend, I'd be happy to help.

Give me a shout anytime.  I'm always up for a chat about real estate or a good lunch spot.
